Reality In Education

Books are great partner in life
But books isn't everything
From what I see and hear
Lousy students earn more money than scholars.

Tuition classes are crowded with students
Even supermarkets had to step a pace behind
These classes suppose to help weak students
How come genius-grade A students are also here?

Piano's voices are a grace to the mind
Smiling angels playing musics and sang a song
But I didn't saw that through the glass window
Only a girl crying while playing piano.

Teachers are no more like granddaddy's generation
They enrich their heart with patient and soft voice to share
"Little boy, you should do your homework last night"
"You be careful! my daddy will complaint you to the education department".

Philosophy says:"develop individual's potential in a holistic and integrated manner"
Principal says: "I want results! I want more As! I want improvements"
District Office says:"Give me data! Show me black and white!"
Teachers... nothing to be said.

There is a head prefect chosen every year
He signify the leadership among the students
There are head prefects chosen nowadays
They signify more marks for Ko-K

Yeah! It's Friday!
Starting tomorrow is a week's semester holiday!
Wait! Said the school principal...
Year 6 will have tuition classes on next Monday to Friday...

Visit to Trauma & Emergency Centre

It's been a long time since last post. All this while I'm having busy time with works and boring time with personal life. At last today found some interesting stories to blog. We are preparing for our ambulance service during Hari Raya. So before the service started, we arranged a visit to the hospital E&T Unit for a simple briefing, which happened today.

We were introduced to a few area namely the triaging zone, green zone, yellow zone, red zone, asthma zone and treatment room. We actually are quite familiar with these places as we usually have chance to be around. What amazed me today is the Red Zone. The chance I've been into a red zone is to transfer the patient onto the bed and get lost, without even seeing the inside clearly. Tonight is a special chance to see the inside of the Red Zone. The most eye catching items in the room is a row of Laerdal Suction Units (LSU), arranged on a cupboard. The blue and yellow combination of colours is really striking. There is a cleaning room beside the room, which is a place to bath dirty patient especially those they rescues from the stinky drains.

At the waiting hall, I have the chance to dig into their trauma bags and kits. Their so-called trauma bags are more similar to a combination of resuscitation bag and IV bags. The in-charge told us that they usually store dressings and bandages inside the vehicle. They have another kit which contains all kinds of drugs, which they say they "play" with the drugs on the scene. Together with the bags is an Laerdal Heartstart AED which seems like an older model no more available in the market.

As a conclusion, i found E&T Unit very "impressive" and "expensive". Everything inside cost a big fortune. Looking forward for the coming duty.
