A Note For Mr "keY"

Dear Mr keY,

Kata Nama Khas - Guru Besar, Amin, Pak Cik Ali, Si Tompok, Cheras
*with capital letter

Kata Nama am - kucing, emak, sekolah, kerusi
*no capital letter

How come you could reverse it and teach the students in opposite way?

backbiting

Okay... Today i heard someone backbite about some other people. This "someone" told me about some "old history" of another person, which actually is one of my friend. He even say something about so and so like me and blah blah blah...

I don't like this kind of social activity- backbiting, backstabbing. Isn't it good to have a nice and warm working environment? Why make it worse? Talking nonsense about somebody is not productive.

I walked away after i heard about "the story". I don't want to have a miserable way of life talking about other people.

YEAH

I'm happy to pass the KRS Handbook to another colleague today. KRS is not much my business now. I'm arranged for BSM Link Unit this year. Yeah, my wish came true! At least I'm doing something i like to do...

Complaints... complaints... complaints!!!

It's not other people complaining about me... It is me who want to do some complaints before i continue my works on this sunny holiday. uhHH... mentioning about holiday, a day off is nothing but just another working day away from the office and classroom. Had to do some complaining here because its a way to release my stress and secondly i believe my boss were not reading this blog... haha!

2 sets of exam papers, 2 sets of exam sample papers, 3 piles of essays to check, lesson plans, teaching material for the following days, some filing & paper works, blah blah blah... These jobs already far beyond next week to finish! Even my computer started to get boring facing me from morning till night.

I'm the kind of people is either finish the job or won't do it. I'm not considering the second motion so i had to do all those works. This year is really changing me into extrema heavy duty batteries for the school and the administrator. Ketua panitia, discipline, teaching year 6, penyelaras unit beruniform... All these works is still fine but something i heard yesterday makes me feel not so worth it. BOSS says commitment from the staff is not so important. No matter the staff is committed or not, products still have to meet the requirements ("Products" means the students in school or he so called Canned Sardine). I hated that verse... So many of his teachers working life and death from working hours to private time and even sacrificing their sleeping time for school (for sure we got no OT). They never complaints and still working hard. (I'm very exceptional as I'm complaining now, hehe.) When his teacher starts to stop sacrificing private time for him, he will had a very bad retirement at the end of this year.

But anyhow, i do learn about "Agi idup agi ngelaban" from the Royal Rangers Regiments. Had to keep the spirit up, just fight on until the last breath. But for my case, i'm fighting with some red pens, computers, printers, files, results, statistics, exam papers, essays, ISO 2001 and blah blah blah.

OKAY CIKGU, AGI IDUP AGI NGELABAN! Got to start "ngelaban" with the exam papers again. Pray for me that my extream-heavy-duty battery is not going to explode.

dhyrea

Today i had no choice but to take a day off from works. Since yesterday afternoon I'm starting to feel not well and by night time, i start to go to toilet frequently. I had a stomachache for the whole night, giving me a sleepless and painful evening. I pass out lots of water in the toilet and i realize i had a bad dehydration. Early morning today i go to the clinic nearby and paid RM35 for some ORS and medicines. Situation are getting better by now but i lost my appetite.

life as a teacher

Every morning people see us walking into school and leave in the afternoon with smiles. "Life as a teacher is very easy, 7-1 everyday, 5 days a week, long school holidays". It was a truth twenty years ago, but absolutely not today. There is a passage in some local Chinese newspapers which grabbed my attention. It sounds something like this:

Being a teacher is not a simple task at all. My wife had been posted far away from family , leaving me and my small baby behind. It was a two hour flight journey to her new place. She couldn't get a post near our hometown since there is too many empty seats to be filled there. She is now educating other people's children by sacrificing her chance to educate here own child.

Her first salary will not be paid until the third month since the processing period needs three months. I send her whatever i had to her, hoping she will not be tied between her legs. Routine works is not as easy as it seems to be. Teaching, preparing for lessons, correcting piles of exercises, lots of paper works, organizing school activities, meetings, taking care of children's safety, prepare questions for exams, and so on. Most of the time she bring her works back home and continues at night. Her works is like a never ending story. Sometimes when i go to visit her, i burn the night candle with her.

I'm very impressed with teachers in this country, and even myself. I never had imagined I am inside this circle working days and nights and sometimes have to face some parents coming to school pointing their finger to teachers over a remarkably small matter. I'm getting more used to it as i always remind myself " That's life... just get use to it". Well, we have to admit, that is life...
