I always advice my students to use standard Malay when talking.
"Cikgu, kasi saya."
I was like crazy when i heard that. "Kasi" in Malays means to make animals or human to stop reproduction by cutting off the important part of the reproduction organ(s). When the student "invite" me to "kasi" them, I was so... don't know how to express it. I want them to use "beri", "edar", "bahagi" or some other words instead of "kasi".
"Cikgu boleh pergi tandas?"
When i heard that, i will give a very direct answer: "Cikgu memang boleh pergi ke tandas tetapi kamu tidak boleh". Seems funny, but that's really what happen in class.
